Ένα μη πολιτικό-κοινωνικό και πολιτιστικό project με στόχο την εμπλοκή Σύριων και ανθρώπων που σχετίζονται με την χώρα με σκοπό να μοιραστούν τις ιστορίες τους. Το project επιχειρεί να αναδείξει την ανθρώπινη διάσταση των καθημερινών Σύριων μέσω της σχέσης τους με τις τέχνες, τον πολιτισμό, τον αθλητισμό και τους τόπους.
a non-political social and cultural project aiming to engage Syrians and people with a connection to the country to share their stories. It provides a reminder of the humanity of ordinary Syrians through their relationship with arts, culture, sport and places.

Περίληψη Παρουσίασης / Presentation Summary:
Το πρώτο στάδιο του project ήταν η δημιουργία μιας μη-πολιτικής, δίγλωσσης διαδικτυακής πλατφόρμας ενσωμάτωσης, όπου Σύριοι νιώθουν ασφαλείς να μοιραστούν τις ιστορίες τους. Ο δεύτερος στόχος αυτού του blog είναι να παρέχει στο διεθνές κοινό μια οπτική για την Συρία, η οποία να στερείται επικεφαλίδων και τίτλων για τον πόλεμο. Συμπληρωματικά, το project ενθαρρύνει τους Σύριους να αναπτύξουν τις ικανότητες τους στην εξιστόρηση μέσω εργαστηρίων για έφηβους και ενήλικες. Τα αποτελέσματα των εργαστηρίων θα εκδοθούν στην ιστοσελίδα και αργότερα, καλώς εχόντων των πραγμάτων, σε ένα βιβλίο.
The first stage of the project was creating a non-political, bilingual and inclusive blog platform where Syrians feel safe to share their stories. A second aim of this blog is to provide international audiences with a perspective on Syria, which is lacking from headlines about the ongoing war. Additionally, the project encourages Syrians develop their storytelling skills through workshops for youth and mentoring. The results of the workshop are to be published on the blog and hopefully later in a book.

Μικρή Βιογραφία / Short Biography:
Ο Juan delGado γεννήθηκε στην Ισπανία και ζει στο Λονδίνο από το 1994. Σπούδασε Σύγχρονα Μέσα στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Westminster. Το 1999 κέρδισε Βραβείο της Βρετανικής Ακαδημίας για την πτυχιακή του εργασία. Αποπεράτωσε τις μεταπτυχιακές του σπουδές στις Τέχνες το 2001. Δουλεύοντας καλλιτεχνικά κυρίως με την κινούμενη εικόνα, την εγκατάσταση και τη φωτογραφία, εξερευνά έννοιες όπως η κινητικότητα, ο γεωγραφικός τόπος και η ταυτότητα. Αυτή τη στιγμή ασχολείται με διάφορα projects σε συνεργασία με Σύριους καλλιτέχνες εκτοπισμένους στην Τουρκία.
Juan delGado was born in Spain and has lived in London since 1994. He studied Contemporary Media at the University of Westminster. In 1999 he received a British Academy award for his dissertation. He completed his master in Media Arts in 2001. Working mainly in moving image, installation and photography, he explores notions of mobility, territory and identity. At present he is producing several projects in collaboration with Syrian artists displaced in Turkey.
